Third-party notices¶
CTR2WUP third-party notices and audit status¶
This file records the current development foundation. The candidate repositories were inspected outside the CTR2WUP source tree. A research reference is not a statement that its implementation is incorporated into this project.
WUT (Wii U Toolchain / SDK)¶
Source: https://github.com/devkitPro/wut Audited source: cc35feb58d3c3bff9af898ab3df6965e6abcf139 License: zlib, from upstream LICENSE.txt, including the sample tree. WUT is used as the external SDK for the native Wii U platform prototype.

Zakuro¶
Source: https://github.com/fearkov/zakuro Audited source: 76f17bf76cd9ea238a94f37d389fe701ab05a673 Status: external CPU/HLE port candidate and host instruction-test reference. License: MIT; notice reproduced from upstream LICENSE.

3dsrecomp¶
Source: https://github.com/fearkov/3dsrecomp Audited source: f78cd3777a676a7c02538ab993ca574a6d843416 Status: pinned external host-lifter candidate; locally built and tested. License designation: MIT in upstream Cargo.toml and abi/Cargo.toml. The inspected checkout does not contain a complete LICENSE/copyright notice. Do not silently invent an upstream copyright grant or copy its ABI header into distributed source. Complete the required upstream notice before distributing substantial implementation or emitted ABI support code. Local adapter use must retain this documented limitation. Upstream generated commercial game code is private user-derived output and must never be published with CTR2WUP.
Azahar¶
Source: https://github.com/azahar-emu/azahar Audited source: d409087405bc299b88ff35dd5b96b6e2698d5929 Status: semantic research reference; no implementation copied into CTR2WUP. Root LICENSE.txt contains GPLv3. Individual core files contain GPLv2-or-later and GPLv3-or-later notices, and third-party submodules have separate licenses. Any future incorporation requires applicable notice preservation, compatible licensing and corresponding source. See docs/foundation-audit.md.
Candidates not incorporated because no license grant was found¶
- https://github.com/mtrdrgz/3ds_recompiler 600f22cf7bf02a478b6455a971c8e27f7c742860
- https://github.com/ihaveamac/nuspacker 797b84af32e5bb0c353577a7a3f67e236f7b7ee3
- https://github.com/NicoAICP/CNUS_Packer 85c31c1ea6b98afa8037ec429da39a92e09625f4
No source or binaries from those candidates are distributed by CTR2WUP. Their public visibility does not supply a redistribution grant. Certificate/key templates from the packaging candidates were not copied.
External development tools¶
The optional compiler-built homebrew workflow links original applications with unmodified devkitPro/libctru at 9b55eda44cf80b971503991e0c78f9bc8fe50425, https://github.com/devkitPro/libctru, using its zlib-style permission in README.md. The complete notice is preserved at docs/licenses/libctru.txt. Library source and devkitARM remain external dependencies; their source/tool binaries are not included in the source bundle. The optional compiled interactive RPX/WUHB embeds that original application's ARM executable, including linked libctru and GCC/newlib support. Keep the libctru notice and existing runtime license texts with that artifact. The ARM compiler used in this workflow is GCC 15.2.0; the GCC exception/GPL texts are the same license versions preserved below, not a claim that it is GCC 16.1.0 or that the ARM and PPC newlib builds are identical. ARM newlib's complete collected notices are also preserved as docs/licenses/COPYING.NEWLIB.ARM (devkitPro/newlib devkitPro license-reference commit 57bd8e1ade3cf46d2e61a72516ac8bfaf8fdfd62). The linked 3DSX CRT is devkitPro/devkitarm-crtls under MPL 2.0. Its unmodified 3dsx_crt0.s, 3dsx.ld and 3dsx.specs source from commit 1c0c10257c44bbb5a433453bb6bba91582825492 is included at docs/licenses/devkitarm-crtls/, with the full MPL text at docs/licenses/MPL-2.0.txt. The rebuilt .crt0 section bytes and relocations match the installed ARM SDK object; whole-object hashes differ. These sources accompany the covered startup code in the optional compiled guest. They are not project-authored code or linked into the native PPC platform as assembly. See the audit receipt at docs/licenses/devkitarm-crtls/README.md. CTR2WUP's license does not replace their MPL.
The separate CTR2WUP-CIA-Intake Windows x64 utility bundles Microsoft's .NET 10.0.12 runtime and apphost under MIT plus the preserved third-party notices from the exact restored runtime/host packages. Their LICENSE.TXT and THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.TXT are identical for those packages and accompany the helper distribution as LICENSE-DOTNET.txt and THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES-DOTNET.txt. Copies are also at docs/licenses/dotnet-runtime-*.txt. This limited console helper is original intake code, not the final GUI/injector; no SDK, user game or credential is bundled. Runtime source: https://github.com/dotnet/runtime, v10.0.12.
Encrypted packaging optionally calls the external Python package cryptography 50.0.0, https://github.com/pyca/cryptography. Its Apache-2.0 OR BSD-3-Clause license permits the BSD-3-Clause grant selected here; the full notice is preserved at docs/licenses/cryptography-LICENSE.BSD. No cryptography, OpenSSL, CFFI or other native dependency binary is bundled in these source/diagnostic archives. A future Windows dependency distribution must retain all applicable package and native dependency notices.
Rust, Cargo, GCC/devkitPPC, newlib, elf2rpl and optional SDK packages remain external toolchain dependencies. This notice does not assert that their licenses are identical to WUT's. Redistributing a complete host application or toolchain bundle requires a dependency-by-dependency notice and source audit. No ROM, commercial game assets, Nintendo SDK, donor title or credential is included with this project.
The optional scene encoding tests use external, unmodified nihstro headers at f4d8659decbfe5d234f04134b5002b82dc515a44 (BSD-3-Clause, copyright 2014 Tony Wasserka). They are compiled only in a separate reference test, not copied, linked into the runtime or bundled in distributions. No emulator implementation is incorporated by the original loader/MOV shader/software scene increment.
Runtime notices for the diagnostic artifact¶
The diagnostic links WUT and GCC/newlib support. Runtime license texts accompany the source/artifact distribution in docs/licenses: - COPYING.NEWLIB: devkitPro/newlib devkitPPC branch, license-reference commit 729f71403f8f3e9941049d0d707def766553f5cb. This collects the individual BSD/MIT and other newlib contributor notices; it is not a claim of identical source revision to every SDK library object. - COPYING.RUNTIME and COPYING3: GCC 16.1.0 source commit 6afcc4f6da931eb93f3ab001a0dd9650ea71d1ea, GCC Runtime Library Exception 3.1 and its referenced GPLv3 text. The exception addresses eligible compiled target-code combinations; the external compiler itself is not bundled.
The full devkitPro SDK/image, external lifter binary and unlicensed packaging candidate binaries are not part of the delivered source/diagnostic bundles.
